Introducing Sondre Kvambekk, our latest contributor to the Ski Bum Norway diary.
Born in Asker, Sondre Kvambekk grew up in a family that has always liked to be out and about. Mesmerised by the mountains from an early age, Sondre completed a staggering 45km ski trip to Bletoppen from his family cabin at the age of eight, and by the age of ten he had already bagged an impressive 81 peaks.
Sondre built up his experience with many trips over Hardangervidda, Jotunheimen, Seljord and Stryn, and by the age of 19 had bagged most of Norway’s 386 2,000m plus peaks.
Currently studying Outdoor sports and recreation in Sogndal, with the long-term goal to qualify as an IFMGA certified mountain guide, Sondre is passionate about the outdoors and wants to inspire others. has also explored Aconcagua, Kilimanjaro, Mont Blanc, and the Matterhorn to name but a few.
To date, he has conquered just over 1,300 summits with experience on Aconcagua, Kilmanjaro Mont Blanc and The Matterhorn, and we are both lucky and extremely happy to have him on board.
