Since its early inception in 2001, Hafjell Bike Park has exploded into a world class Bike Park. It started with the “Wednesday Club”, a group of local riders doing shuttle runs in the area that soon became tired of blasting down the Hafjell fire-roads and craved more demanding trails. In Feb, 2002 a meeting between Snorre Pedersen and the manager of Hafjell Alpine Centre, Geir Olsen occurred, resulting in support from Hafjell Alpine Centre, ending the Illegal trail building.
This gave birth to the NM løypa (Norwegian Championship trail) as we know it today. The NM løypa was created with the help of volunteers putting in hundreds of hours of manual labour, with the finished track later on holding a National Downhill race in 2004.
Today Hafjell Bike Park has a Gondola and chairlift in operation and offers 15 Lift Accessible trails plus a Dirt jump spot. The Difficulty of the trails range from beginner to expert with a mix of machine built and natural trails.
Hafjell Bike Park offers in addition to the trails, a bike-shop including workshop and rental service with a fleet of 130 downhill bikes and cross-country bikes.
Whether you prefer downhill, cross-country or trail riding, the Hafjell Gondola heightens the experience with the perfect entrance to the scenic Øyer mountain plateau. Maps for cross-country and single tracks are available in the Bike shop
